Our Dynamic earth

On Sunday morning, we visited a great museum in Edinburgh : Our Dynamic Earth. This scientific museum focus on the processes that have shaped the Earth (known as earth science). This includes, abiogenesis, plate tectonics and glaciation.

Dynamic Earth is a 5 star visitor attraction situated at the heart of Edinburgh’s World Heritage Site. It sits within an award winning and iconic tented structure at the foot of Salisbury Crags in the Holyrood area of the city.

Opening in 1999, Dynamic Earth was the UK’s first Millennium Commission funded project to open to the public. Part funded by the Millennium Commission Dynamic Earth tells the story of planet Earth and how our Earth works, how life has evolved on its differing environments and the future challenges faced by planet Earth. It was built as a celebration of the life of James Hutton, the father of Modern Geology who studied and worked in this area of Edinburgh throughout the enlightenment period.

Step 1 : how life evolved :

From dinausors to humans, we saw how life appeared on earth, how dinausors died and how humans evolved. We had the luck to see Lucy, the first human and to compare herself with our actual body size. There were many games and fun activities.

Next the life evolution, we came into an ice room where the glaciation area was represented. It was very cold and this exposition showed how was earth before dinausors apparead with enormous glaciers.

After it, we watched a fantastic 3D attraction where we were a pilot and flew over volcans and many landscapes. We could feel seism sensation because the seats moved. Girl were scared it was funny ^^

We see some rooms that trace the evolution of Life on Earth ; animals, human of all period couple with all the incrdible place and geographic zone like rainforrest or extreme polar.

After all, the Natural Selection Gift Shop was very interesting and funny, with some goodies or strange gadget.
